Is prohibition one of best examples of why morales should not be enforced by the government?

Prohibition was supported mainly by the women's christian temperance movement. Prohibition increased the sale of alcohol and lead to the rise of organized crime in america. Leading to even further crimes. So is this a good example of why the government shouldn't try to enforce morales?
